Rubik's sought our assistance in creating their campaign toolkit for 2022. Although they had a strategy in mind, it wasn't fully realised, and they needed our help to breathe life into it and bring their vision to fruition.

 

With most people giving up trying to solve the cube after the first few minutes, the general feeling is that you need some amazing talent to solve the cube. The aim of this campaign was to debunk that perception and motivate young individuals by emphasizing that anyone can solve the cube through the repetition of “TWIST. TURN. LEARN.”

 

The new campaign tagline served as both the starting point and anchor for the development of our work. My role in this was to define a fresh look & feel and lead the creation of suite of assets and promotional content examples.

Creative Idea

​

With the Tagline taking center stage, the ambition was to create an impactful, playful and clean visual approach. Supported by animated renders of the cube and housed in panels of colour, the objective was to shape an aesthetic that would become as iconic as the cube itself.

Social Outputs

To help hero the tagline “TWIST. TURN. LEARN.” – I created bespoke copy animations for each word, dialling up the sense of play and impact for overall message. 

 

Supported by SFX, additional copy and a uniform assignment of colour - I created a suite of assets that broke down the key inspirational steps to solve the cube.

Promotional Content

As part of the toolkit, I applied the creative to an array of touch point examples that could be used to promote the campaign. These examples included 48 sheet, OOH, Bus Sides, Digital Escalator Displays, Retail examples and Digital Banners Ads.
